Teclast P80 Pro tablet is a beautiful tablet with an 8 inch of display, so you can say that the tablet is not super big but rather of average size. When you hold it with your hands, this tablet would feel really compact and is designed for the ease of comfort of your hands. I would say that the tablet seems to be a little bigger than an ordinary phablet. The backside is entirely made of metal alloys although we have plastic inserts both on top and the bottom. On the top, we have a tiny 0.3-megapixel camera. On the upper edge, they have included micro HDMI output for connecting to a TV or a monitor. We also have a micro USB port for the purpose of charging and data transfer. This port can also be used for OTG cables for working with the USB devices.
On the top left, we have a 3.5 mm audio jack, that’s cool.
On the lower side, we have two speaker grills placed side by side. The audio output is not that bad. On the right-hand side, there is a power button and a volume rocker. The lower edge of the right-sided edge houses a tiny hole for the conversational speaker. The back part is entirely made of aluminum alloys, we have the 2MP module on the top left.
P80 Pro received an 8-inch IPS matrix with a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels, which is pretty appreciable in this price range, say, for instance, watching Full HD movies on it is gonna give a fully immersive experience. There are no complaints with regard to the viewing angles, colors are not distorted, although the matrix is likely also from the budget series. The brightness reserve is very large, the image is clearly visible even with the flashlight, although there is a flaw to a certain degree, and that is the parasitic light on the dark areas of the image, especially when looking at the diagonal of the screen. On the front of the display, there are actually no physical home buttons. All the control is performed using the on-screen controls, in additional Multitouch supports up to 10 touches.
This tablet runs under the control of Android 7.0. Firmware updates are also featured with the Operating System. The home screen is pretty fresh. When I powered it on, there was a number of pre-installed programs such as google play and other necessary apps. However, the problem arises when it comes to multitasking. I opened 4 or 5 apps at the same time, and there was a bit of fall in the performance curves. The amount of RAM of the phone is sufficient and is about 2 GB. The size of the phone’s built-in memory is quite large – 32 Gb (25 GB is conventionally useable). The internal memory can be expanded with cards up to 128GB.
The processor MediaTek MT8163 has 4-core 64-bit MTK8163 processor at a frequency of 1300 MHz. The technological process is 28 nm. The 4×1.3 GHz ARM Cortex-A7 chipset is embedded to enhance the processing speed. With the graphics chip that is Mali-T720 MP2, I tested the performance on GeekBenchmark. It scored about 800 points..With regard to playing games, everything is quite good. I played Asphalt 8 on average graphics settings and I was able to play with full comfort but with maximum graphics settings, the lags and breaks are very likely. This power is quite enough to perform the operation of simple tasks and everyday applications. As for the wireless interfaces, you will have the Dual WiFi 2.4GHz/5.0GHz, GPS and Bluetooth 4.0. Of the sensors – and an accelerometer.
In the camera section, it has only about 0.3 mp Front camera. Personally, in my opinion, if I compare the modern standards camera -this is an extremely weak solution to consider. The Cameras are suitable only for video calls in Skype. However, the rear Camera is not much worth using, there is no autofocus, the resolution is small. The back camera has 2.0 mp. The picture quality is average in this price range. Here I have taken some sample photos with the back camera- all these photos were taken under the bright sun.
The battery capacity is about 5000 Mah. With normal usage, the battery backup ranges from 8 to 9 hours of lasting. I also watched videos on youtube and the backup is expected to be about 7 hrs.
Teclast is a budget tablet with the good technical specification. The tablet has good performance and high capacity of the battery, although these devices are not always tested at a fairly good level of accuracy. The SIM card slot is not present so this Tablet cannot perform a call operation.
- Good price
- Good battery capacity
- Good performance
- IPS screen.
- micro HDMI output and OTG support
- WiFi in the 2.4 GHz band has a small sensitivity.
- No sim card slot
- BAd camera
In all other respects, it’s probably only a nitpicking sensitivity to WiFi in the 2.4 GHz band, since the tablet works very stable, does not overheat, you look comfortable, play simple games and climb the Internet is also quite real. If necessary, it is possible to connect to a large screen, still full-size USB, but this is a rarity in similar devices.
You can buy Teclast P80 Pro on Gearbest.
That’s all. I hope that the review was useful, as usual, I wait for questions.
